Crafty Capers 2007

A week of frantic artistic activity organised by Sticklepath Fireshow was held in the last week of the Summer holidays at the popular annual Summer holiday activity craft workshops held on Finch Foundry Field. The week’s events culminated in the now infamous but newly named Crafty Capers show and exhibition on Saturday 1st September.

Costumes, garments and wacky creations were created and this year entered into categories including: Garment from waste, Be inspired by a wedding, Imagine you are Vivienne Westwood and design a fantastic catwalk outfit, Book title, Pub names, Name of an island and Kids’ TV. See who won each category.

Definitely an afternoon to let your hair down, all of the participants from age 4 to rather older had great fun as the images below show. A full audience gathered to enjoy the 'Fashion Show', with much hilarity as spectators vied to be the first to work out what or who each participant was representing.

Our heartfelt thanks go to: Mark Lloyd, Ali Vaughan and Sue Bizley for judging, Peter Williams for compering, all the volunteers for helping, especially Jo and Bev Hilton, all the participants and audience, STOCS (Sticklepath & Okehampton Conservation Group), all the local shops and pubs for prizes, Sticklepath Village Hall for chairs and tables, National Trust for field and their tents, Devon Marquee Company for the stage and electrics, Vikki Graham and Steve for the loan of the PA and Dave & Spencer Stallion & James Davy for publicity.
